It’s that time of the year again, where the evenings are getting shorter and garden drinks are being swapped for cosy nights in by the fire. We love this time of the year, with the warm colours and cosy textures. Halloween is a great starter in embracing that autumnal change. But don’t worry Halloween doesn’t have to be a tasteless stream of single use plastic, we can still make it fun for the family and bring in some seasonal styling and traditions to your home. We have put together a list of our 5 favourite styling tips to create a Biophilic Halloween.

1. Embrace Your Inner Nature

Embrace your inner nature through added wooden touches to your styling and décor. You can add wooden touches through out your home through furniture or even just decorative objects placed around the home. Embracing the exposure of wood into your home creates similar health benefits to those that would be achieved if spending time in nature. By incorporating this natural material into your home, it can help to reduce stress levels, reduce blood pressure and even help with improving your wellbeing cognitively and creatively and even the air we breathe. Here are a few of our favourite wooden interior styles.

    2. Bringing The Outdoors In

There are so many ways that you can incorporate the outdoors in this maybe through creating a Halloween wreathe using natural materials that you have found outside or even using seasonal dried and fresh plants together. Adding a wreath will help round out the space of the room. Another great way to bring the outdoor in is through creating pumpkin lanterns or even just decorating your pumpkins this could be a great activity for the whole family.  We do recommend a carving kit. Check out a few of our favourite pumpkin styles.

    3. Make It Cosy

Now that you’ve got the pumpkin carving out the way it’s time to make your home cosy.  Creating a cosy style is the key to an autumnal Halloween look. We would first recommend that you start with your key pieces of furniture in place, this maybe the sofa, a dining table or even the island in the kitchen. When it comes to creating a cosy style try layering with different textures like soft blankets, throws and even accent pillows will really help bring the look together. Then all you need to do is throw in a few pumpkins here and there and add a few splashes of amber hues and neutral coloured accessories and you’ve got yourself a cosy little Halloween!

    4. Focus On The Texture

When styling your home think about embracing natural textures which could include fresh chopped wood for the log fires, organic and neutral toned blankets or even play around with textured and different size cushions. You could complete the look with some autumnal seasonal plants and even a few white pumpkins here and there they are great for blending into the rest of your space.

    5. Perfect Your Mantel Style

A fireplace is often seen as the heart to the home, and it’s also a perfect spot to display your Halloween décor. To achieve the optimum Halloween mantel consider using plenty of greenery, candles and candle stick holders in your colour scheme, seasonal foliage fresh or dry which add great texture to your styling. You can even add a few pumpkins and paper bunting to go alongside and will really help to bring the look together. Using neutral colours will allow you to create a restful and calming Halloween look, whilst preventing it from looking to busy.
