Kuba Cloth

Design Notes

In the Democratic Republic of the congo, formerly Zaire, Cuba textiles are unique for their surface decoration, elaboration and complexity of design. Most textiles are a variation on rectangular or square pieces of woven palm leaf fibre. enchanted by geometric designs and excited in linear embroidery as well as other stitches, they are cut to form pile surfaces, resembling velvet.

I think the use of clean, fresh colours with textures is essential in the interiors when using these fabrics.
